The Top 10 Best Traveling Memories

In Chronological Order....

1. Attending the Sun Ru Won Babies Home, an orphanage in Seoul, South Korea, where Amy, Travis and Katelyn (Trav's sister) volunteered for a day. After a wild goose chase attempt at finding the place that included a brief foray through a fish market (navigating in Seoul is tough!), we waited patiently on the couch while the Sun Ru Won staff attempted to locate Katelyn's records for about an hour. We knew that Katelyn had never been to that particular orphanage, but purveying that fact was quite a challenge! We finally explained that we just wanted to play with the kids, and play we did for hours and hours.

2. Meeting Katelyn's birth mom.

3. Going to the DMZ (Demiliterized Zone) border between North and South Korea. Yes, North Korea decided it was wise to test their nuclear bomb (against our parents wishes) while we were there.

4. A day of paradise on a few tiny islands off the coast of southern Thailand. White sand, crystal water, fruit for lunch, huge monitor lizards...you get the picture.

5. We could never forget visiting the Elephant Nature Park for a day of elephant baths, education and feeding. See previous posts..

6. The Milford Sound in New Zealand was spectacular; complete with dolphins, waterfalls, penguins, huge mountains and pristene water.

7. The Franz-Jospeh Glacier- an ice climb through crevasses. We practically felt like explorers.

8. Sleeping in the Little Prince (our 1987 Toyota Corolla). Yes, if Travis slept diagonally, Amy could bunch her body into the corner. What a few perfect nights of sleep under the stars.

9. Kayaying through the Abel Tasman National Park in New Zealand was a memory not to be forgotten. Even the part where Trav spewed his guts up on all sides of the tent. Before that point though, we were privy to watching a few sting rays glide along the surface of our private beach. Later that night, we watched the full moon rise over the ocean.

10. Swimming with 500 (no kidding!) dolphins in Kaikoura, New Zealand with Trav's familia.

OK, OK...sorry, we have a few more.

11. Great Ocean Road Adventure Race. Five days of fun, beautiful sights, and no sleep. Trav and Kim took 2nd place and survived the 10 foot waves.

12. Diving and snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef (TODAY- Amy's 25th bday)! This seriously goes on the life of top 10 life memories. You've seen it on TV, and it is even better in person.

13. Coming home in 1 week to see our family and friends!

See you soon!

Thank you for following us on this once in a lifetime trip.

Signing out-

T and A (ok, the intials are a bit crass...but we had to do it)
